Georgia Amoore set to represent Australia in series against China this week
As we wait for the season to begin, players are currently off-campus for a while before summer practice gets going. We’ve seen where Cassidy Rowe has been putting the work in, and incoming All-American transfer Georgia Amoore is doing the same.
This week, she’ll be representing her home country of Australia as she competes in the China Series on the national team. The schedule for Amoore’s games goes as follows:
- Wednesday @ 7:30 a.m. EST vs. China
- Friday @ 7:30 a.m. EST vs. China
- Sunday @ 7:30 a.m. EST vs. China
This will serve as a great first look at one of Kentucky’s new additions and the likely leader of the team. Following last season, Amoore had many options. She could have stayed at Virginia Tech, transferred elsewhere like she did, or she could have returned to Australia and gone pro there.
She’ll get a small taste of that this week in the China Series.
Australia’s national team, the Opals, are preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympics — their first game coming against Nigeria on July 29th. They’ll play a series of nine exhibition games over the next two months to get themselves ready for France.

As for Amoore herself, it’ll get tricky with how long she plays. For one, Australia has to do well in these nine games to even make the Olympics in Paris.
Then, even if the team does make it that far, Amoore would have to be continually invited to play on the national team. There are hopes for Amoore to make the Opals Olympic squad, but it won’t be a certainty given the level of talent in Australia.
Regardless, Amoore has the chance to show the world and the BBN what she’s got this week in the China Series.
