Kenny Brooks has been at work since the conclusion of Kentucky’s season, reeling in CUSA guards Josie Gilvin and Asia Boone. However, he added to the strength of the backcourt by landing a highly-coveted ACC guard as well.

A source told KSR that Georgia Tech transfer guard Tonie Morgan has committed to Kentucky.

The two-time All-ACC guard put up 13.7 points, 5.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game as a junior. She excels at getting downhill, but she can create her own shot if needed as well. With the talent she’ll have around her, she should be able to thrive.

Morgan helped lead the Yellowjackets to a 15-0 start to the season as they climbed up to No. 13 in the AP Poll. She led Georgia Tech in scoring in six games this season, including their last four. She was the top passer in 23 of their games.

The 5-foot-9 Tallahassee, FL product had a career-high 31 points on 12-20 (1-2 3PT) shooting against Stanford in the regular season finally, and she scored 15+ points 12 times this past year.

There’s a world where Morgan ends up being the Georgia Amoore replacement running the point, but she can play off the ball as well. However Brooks decides to use her, she’s a massive, massive get.
