Get Intoxicated on the Spectacular Highlights from the Kentucky Win over Tennessee
A victory over the Vols is oxygen to Big Blue Nation. Breathe easy, Kentucky fans. The Wildcats played a game at the Food City Center. If history tells us anything, they’re leaving the grocery store with a win.
For the third straight year, the Kentucky Wildcats won in Knoxville, Tennessee. They’ve now won four of their last five on the road in the rivalry game. Mark Pope logged his fifth win over a Top 10 team as the Kentucky head coach.
The Wildcats did it all without Lamont Butler and Andrew Carr. The latter dressed to play, but only logged two minutes in the first half.
Just like the last time Butler was sidelined, Jaxson Robinson rose to the occasion. Serving as the Cats’ primary ball-handler, he scored 17 points (4-9 3FG) and only had two turnovers while battling cramps in the second half. Koby Brea was a perfect 5-5 from the field (3-3 3FG) to score a team-high 18 points. None felt bigger than the three that got Kentucky to 71 points.
Amari Williams was a monster in the second half. The Kentucky center had 10 points and 15 boards. Ansley Almonor sunk four threes for the second straight game, Harlan County’s Trent Noah had a couple of big buckets, and Otega Oweh had 14 points, including a few big free throws down the stretch.
