Memorial Coliseum is adding another layer to its homecourt advantage this week.

No. 12 Kentucky women’s basketball (17-2; 6-1 SEC) has a massive opportunity to add a resume-building win on Thursday in Lexington as No. 22 Alabama (17-4; 4-3 SEC) comes to town. To build even more buzz around the Top 25 SEC showdown, UK is asking for all fans in attendance to wear white.

White shirts, white jackets, white sweaters, white hats, white whatever. Doesn’t matter. Just wear something white to uniformly cheer for your Wildcats alongside the rest of the Big Blue Nation. Tipoff on Thursday is set for 7:00 p.m. EST on the SEC Network. If you’re interested in purchasing tickets, some are still available over on Ticketmaster.

This matchup is quietly shaping up to be one of the most important of the season so far for the Wildcats. Kentucky is off to a terrific 6-1 start in the SEC, but only one of those games came against a ranked opponent (a 96-78 win over now-No. 23 Vanderbilt). Thursday’s contest kicks off a stretch that will see UK face six ranked teams across the final nine regular season games. Beating the Crimson Tide would be the perfect way to start the challenging run.

ESPN’s Matchup Predictor is calling for a tight one with Kentucky given a 50.1 percent chance to beat Alabama. This will be just the third Quad 1 opportunity of the season for the ‘Cats. A big opportunity awaits…
