A Monday morning update from the transfer portal: Great Osobor made his college decision. The former Utah State star will stay out west, committing to Washington for his final season of college basketball. Osobor’s agent, George Langberg of GSL Sports Group, shared the commitment with Jonathan Givony of ESPN, who broke the news early Monday morning. Givony’s Osobor scoop also included the price tag for the Mountain West Player of the Year. According to Givony, Washington’s NIL efforts made Osobor the highest-paid known player in college basketball with $2 million in NIL deals

Before Osobor’s Washington commitment, Mark Pope and Kentucky targeted him for help in the frontcourt. Many speculated Osobor was a Kentucky lean early in the process, some even hinting that a commitment was imminent due to his connection to Amari Williams, who had already picked the Cats. Osobor and Williams played together at Myerscough College in England.

Osobor’s Lexington visit went well, but the highly sought-after portal player still wanted to take his other visits, including a trip to Washington. Without Osobor’s in-person commitment, Kentucky turned to other options without a hefty price tag for its frontcourt, while Osobor made his rounds. Now, he has his big payday while following his Utah State head coach, Danny Sprinkle, to Seattle.

Osobor is the 14th-ranked player in On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings.
