Former Kentucky coach Hal Mumme revolutionized college football with the Air Raid offense, but today, he stepped down as offensive coordinator at Jackson State, a position he’s only held since last December. According to Jackson State head coach Tony Hughes, Mumme stepped down to pursue other professional opportunities.

Through three games this season, Jackson State is 1-2 and is averaging only 13 points per game, a far cry from Mumme’s offenses at previous programs. Before coming to Jackson State, Mumme was the head coach at Belhaven, where his offense averaged 445.3 yards per game on 55.8 passing attempts.

Any guess as to what Mumme’s next gig will be?
