HALFTIME: Arkansas Leads Kentucky 34-28
It was a rough first half for the Wildcats in Fayetteville, but John Calipari’s team is not out of the fight. JD Notae scored 18 points as Arkansas took advantage of a sluggish UK start to build a 34-28 halftime lead.
Kentucky scored the opening bucket, then did a whole lot of nothing for the next five minutes. Arkansas went on a 15-0 run until Oscar Tshiebwe took over. He scored the Wildcats’ first nine points, assisted on the next two buckets, then scored once more to cut the deficit to six. Tshiebwe already has his 23rd double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Similar to the wins over Alabama and LSU, the Wildcats made a late run in the final four minutes of the half to close the gap. Kentucky out-scored Arkansas 9-2 after the final TV timeout to make it a six-point game.
