HALFTIME: Kentucky leads Texas A&M-Commerce 38-30

Thank goodness for Antonio Reeves and Reed Sheppard. Down by as many as 13 points, the latter sparked Kentucky‘s run on the defensive end while the former carried the scoring load on offense to retake and extend the lead.
The fifth-year senior scored 13 points on 5-10 shooting and 3-5 from three to help pave the way for Kentucky’s 38-30 lead at the break. Justin Edwards has added eight points on 2-3 shooting and 4-4 at the line to go with five rebounds, followed by Tre Mitchell with seven points and two boards, D.J. Wagner with six points and two assists and Rob Dillingham with four points and five rebounds.
Sheppard had zero points at the break, but had two rebounds and two steals — both turnovers leading to buckets for the Wildcats on the other end.

As a team, Kentucky is shooting 43.8% from the field, 33.3% from three and 100% at the line (6-6) while turning the ball over just twice — though only five assists. Ball movement was an issue early, but improved after an early punch in the face thrown by Texas A&M-Commerce.
The Lions started out of the gates scorching hot from three, knocking down four of their six initial attempts to take a 21-8 lead with 12:22 to go in the half. They ended the first 20 minutes shooting 36.7% from the field, 29.4% from three and 3-6 at the line.
