HALFTIME: Kentucky makes statement with 47-29 lead vs. Mississippi State
How about that for a statement? Kentucky needed one after a letdown finish in College Station. It responded with a 47-point first half against one of the nation’s best defenses while also allowing just 29 on the other end, leading Mississippi State by 18 at the break.
The Cats are shooting an impressive 51.5% from the field, 35.7% from three and 80% at the line with seven different players scoring, five with multiple buckets. Antonio Reeves leads the way with 16 points on 5-7 shooting to go with three rebounds and two dimes. Rob Dillingham rounds out double-digit scorers with 10 on 3-8 shooting while adding three assists and two rebounds. DJ Wagner has seven, followed by Aaron Bradshaw with five, Tre Mitchell with four, Reed Sheppard with three and Justin Edwards with two.
No Bulldog has more than six points and two scores at the half while the Cats are winning the overall rebounding battle 21-17.
