Jerry Stackhouse was upset with the officiating in Rupp Arena. In his defense, so was John Calipari. And the assistants on both benches. And a lot of the fans. OK, probably all of the fans. Even the announcers sounded over it.

The game was ugly both ways with too many trips to the monitor to prolong the chaos on into the night. There’s no good reason to stretch a Wednesday night basketball game to over two and a half hours with an ice storm incoming.

But back to Stackhouse’s anger because it’s funnier when he’s angry. I think it’s the former NBA All-Star status and the tailored, three-piece suit he wears so well. Tonight, the three-piece became a two-piece when Stackhouse lost his cool over a foul he wanted called followed by a Keion Brooks’ tip-in he thought was goaltending. Stackhouse got neither call in a quick sequence that worked out in Kentucky’s favor five minutes into the second half.

The officials awarded Stackhouse a technical foul for his visible frustration and maybe an ‘MF’er’ or two. Bradley McKee caught it in high-definition from a courtside seat for your viewing pleasure.
