Highlands walks off Covington Catholic thanks to Tayden Lorenzen's 4th TD of the night

At this point, it may be safe to say that Tayden Lorenzen, the son of former Kentucky quarterback Jared Lorenzen, might have the same clutch gene that his pops had.
To open the season, Lorenzen cashed in on a two-point try to give No. 8 Highlands a 21-20 victory over No. 16 Frederick Douglass in double overtime. Just weeks later, he’s done it again.
Against No. 11 Covington Catholic — who had only lost to No. 12 Ryle and Elder (OH) to this point in the season — Lorenzen put the Bluebirds on his back, recording four total touchdowns against the Colonels. Down with just three seconds left in regulation, he came up big yet again, catching an 18-yard pass for a touchdown, giving Highlands a 31-28 win on Friday night.
Highlands moves to 6-1 on the year, while Covington Catholic falls to 4-3. The Bluebirds have now won three of their last four meetings with the Colonels.

With his four touchdowns on the night, Lorenzen is now up to 14 total touchdowns on the year. Coming into Friday’s matchup, the junior had 247 yards rushing and 145 yards receiving. Not only is he a feel-good story being Jared’s kid, but he’s also one heck of a ball player.
Soon enough, 22 will be making those kinds of plays on Saturdays.
