Highlights from Kentucky's Citrus Bowl Extracurricular Activities
Bowl games are supposed to be fun. The Kentucky Wildcats have been rewarded with an eventful week in Orlando. Tonight they turn their undivided attention to the Iowa Hawkeyes. Now that the trips around town are over, let’s look back at some of the Kentucky football teams best moments from Citrus Bowl week.
Big Men Lead the Way at Universal
The saying has been a long held belief for the Big Blue Wall. They also lead the way in the line for roller coasters. Abule Abadi-Fitzgerald admitted that he’s afraid of heights, but roller coasters are an exception to that rule. Chris Rodriguez loved riding the rides at Universal Studios, yet a couple big guys kept beating him to the front.
“(Brendan) Bates, (Justin) Rigg and Zach Johnson, them dudes, they want to sit in the front of every ride,” said Chris Rodriguez. “We had to race.”
It was a race the running back wish he would not have won.
Rodriguez’s crew were a select few Wildcats that got a VIP experience at the parks. If you think the FastPass is great, they got to cut those people in lines. Members of the staff took them behind the scenes to quickly get on each ride, turning three-hour waits into two minute trips. It was a memorable experience at one of the world’s greatest amusement parks.
Abule Swings the Sticks
Abule told the media he’s not a big golf guy. I can no longer believe a word he says. Three hours after telling us that, he lined up with a driver and smashed a golf ball down the fairway. With a little work, he could be an exceptional golfer in no time.

Marquan McCall did not have so much luck.
Few players were more apprehensive than DeAndre Square. When he pulled back the club, it looked like he was swinging a baseball bat. He paused, saw cameras were on him and said, “Nope. Y’all aren’t gonna get me.” He simply scooted the ball off the tee and walked away with a smile on his face.
It did get competitive. Brenden Bates pridefully defeated his opponents. A couple freshmen offensive linemen had different strategies. Jager Burton tried to rack up points by chipping into the short targets. David Wohlabaugh racked up points by hitting it as far as possible and it worked. Neither could keep up with John Young, who was launching balls over the net.
Levis and Lou
This morning Kentucky’s quarterback attended the FCA breakfast, giving athletes like Eli Cox and Jacquez Jones to talk about their faith journey. Will Levis heard their testimony from the crowd, then met a childhood hero, the guest speaker, Lou Holtz.
Final Ride at the Fun Park
Hours later, Levis was holding an alligator.
The Citrus Bowl teams up with underprivileged kids from Orlando, pairing them up with players from each team for a morning at Fun Spot America. In addition to holding alligators, they had the chance to hop on a few rides. Marquan McCall is not a fan, but he still begrudgingly got on a few. He did not appear to be enjoying his time on the Tilt-o-Whirl.
There is 100% certainty that he did enjoy his time with the kids.
