It was a Kentucky vs. Kentucky battle on Saturday night in Pikeville.

In order to help raise money for the devastating flooding that took place over the summer in eastern KY, the Wildcats men’s basketball program made a trip to the 606 for the annual Blue-White Game. The White Team (which was unfairly stacked with a more talented roster) came away with the 70-67 victory over the Blue Team in front of a packed crowd of roughly 7,000 fans.

Illinois State transfer Antonio Reeves led the way with 27 points for the Blue Team while freshman guard Adou Thiero added another 21 points for the Blue Team. But a spread-out effort from the White Team (all five players scored in double-figures) was too much to overcome. Head coach John Calipari wasn’t particularly happy about the defense on either side, but the offense did combine to shoot 48.6 percent from the field. The final score would have been much higher had the second half not been reduced from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. But regardless, it was an exciting night of preseason hoops for the Big Blue Nation.

Didn’t get a chance to soak in the action/the ESPN app was making you want to jump off a 100-foot cliff? No worries! Below are all of the highlights from the preseason scrimmage, courtesy of Kentucky Wildcats TV.

Enjoy.
