Ole Miss had a very special celebrity guest sitting courtside to witness the Rebels’ home loss to Kentucky on Tuesday. Morgan Freeman, an Ole Miss season ticket holder, had his feet on the hardwood for his team’s regular season finale in The Pavilion.
Freeman met Kentucky’s PJ Washington before the game (Freeman called Washington over to meet him, says our old friend TJ Beisner), but Keldon Johnson was unaware of the movie star’s attendance at the game. When Jerry Tipton asked Johnson about Freeman, Johnson replied, “He was here?… I didn’t know he was here. My bad.” The response stirred up some laughter at the press conference.
The Kentucky players were lucky Freeman didn’t tug on their shorts during the game, like he did during a game back in 2017.
