How Jaland Lowe Performed at the NBA G League Elite Camp

The NBA Draft process is hitting the hardwood in Chicago over the next week. While most of Big Blue Nation’s attention will be focused on Otega Oweh, he’s not the only potential backcourt star for Kentucky who has a decision to make.
Point guard Jaland Lowe is among the 45 players who were invited to participate in the G League Elite Camp. A former Pitt Panther, Lowe committed to Kentucky in April, but kept his name in the NBA Draft. Today he got to put his skills to the test against other prospective draft prospects.
In the first 5-on-5 scrimmage of the day, the 6-foot-2 guard from Texas came off the bench. In 18 minutes, he scored nine points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3FG) and dished out five assists. He also had a pair of steals and led his victorious team in plus-minus at +15. Not too shabby.
Sports Illustrated’s Kevin Sweeney was impressed with Lowe’s game.
“Other guy I thought moved the needle some was Kentucky commit Jaland Lowe,” Sweeney wrote on Twitter. “Had his way getting into the paint, made good decisions with the ball, looks to have added some muscle.”

The NBA G League Elite Camp runs through Sunday. After completing agility drills earlier in the process, Lowe will get one more opportunity to go through five-on-five tomorrow.
The top performers from the NBA G League Elite Camp will be invited to participate in the NBA Combine later this week. A few other Kentucky Wildcats could be in the mix. Amari Williams, Lamont Butler, and Andrew Carr are also showing their stuff this weekend in Chicago.
