The Kentucky football program didn’t play well on Saturday, but plenty of future Wildcats showed up for their respective high school teams throughout the weekend.

16 of Kentucky’s 17 class of 2025 commits (ranked No. 24 in the country by On3) were in action over the last few days. Some did better than others, with the likes of EDGE Cedric Works, S Martels Carter, WR Quintin Simmons, WR Preston Bowman, QB Stone Saunders, and OT Tucker Kattus all playing well.

Dive in below to see how they all performed, but first, let’s hear a quick word from our loyal sponsor…

How Kentucky commits performed in Week 3

*Player rankings courtesy of the On3 Industry Ranking*

Cedric Works (EDGE) 6-5, 230 | Frederick Douglass (Dayton, OH)
4-star: No. 147 overall, No. 18 EDGE

  • Cedric Works and No. 6 Frederick Douglass (1-2) dropped its second straight game to a ranked opponent on Friday, losing to No. 15 DuPont Manual 35-28 in overtime. The Broncos failed to convert on the final possession of the game. In the Hudl video below, you’ll see Works bat down a pass, rush the quarterback twice, and eat up a running back in the backfield.

Javeon Campbell (DL) 6-5, 260 | Western Hills (Frankfort, KY)
4-star: No. 155 overall, No. 15 DL

  • Javeon Campbell and Western Hills (3-0) continued its undefeated season with a 50-12 win over Fort Knox. With Campbell helping hold down the defense, Fort Knox finished with under 200 total yards of offense.

Marquise Davis (RB) 5-11, 200 | Cleveland Heights (Cleveland, OH)
4-star: No. 159 overall, No. 10 RB

  • Marquise Davis and Cleveland Heights fell to 1-2 following a 27-14 loss to Hudson (OH). Davis shined against Hudson last year (300+ yards, four touchdowns), but didn’t have similar success this time around. Stats were not made available for Cleveland Heights, but Davis was credited with a lost fumble.

Martels Carter Jr. (S) 6-1, 185 | Paducah Tilghman (Paducah, KY)
4-star: No. 171 overall, No. 16 S

  • Martels Carter and No. 4 Paducah Tilghman (3-0) dominated once again, beating Mayfield 41-10. Carter played both sides of the field, registering four rushes for 20 yards and seven catches for another 67 yards on offense. On defense, he was credited with two tackles (one solo) and a 25-yard interception.

Quintin Simmons (WR) 6-0, 170 | Withrow (Cincinnati, OH)
4-star: No. 330 overall, No. 50 WR

  • Quintin Simmons and Withrow (0-3) just can’t seem to break through, losing once again in a 15-14 effort to Northmont (OH). Simmons had his moments though, registering a 36-yard touchdown catch. He had two more catches in the Hudl video below and even took some successful snaps in the Wildcat, including one that he ran in for a 25-yard touchdown. Withrow’s third straight loss certainly wasn’t Simmons’ fault.

Kalen Edwards (DL) 6-4, 325 | Dyersburg (Dyersburg, TN)
4-star: No. 357 overall, No. 31 DL

  • Kalen Edwards and Dyersburg (1-2) came up short against Covington (TN) by a score of 30-15. Statistics were not made available.

Darrin Strey (OT) 6-6, 295 | Paw Paw (Paw Paw, MI)
3-star: No. 404 overall, No. 28 OT

  • Darrin Strey and Paw Paw are off to a 2-0 start after beating Berrien Springs (MI) 49-15 on Friday. Statistics were not made available.

Ja’Kayden Ferguson (WR) 6-2, 175 | Fort Bend Marshall (Houston, TX)
3-star: No. 433 overall, No. 70 WR

  • Ja’Kayden Ferguson and Fort Bend Marshall are also 2-0, coming off a 28-14 win over Skyline (TX) on Saturday. Statistics were not made available.

Andrew Purcell (CB) 5-10, 185 | Enterprise (Enterprise, AL)
3-star: No. 485 overall, No. 43 CB

  • Andrew Purcell and Enterprise (3-0) have still yet to lose after taking down Dothan (AL) 28-21. Statistics were not made available.

Preston Bowman (WR) 6-0, 195 | Pickerington North (Pickerington, OH)
3-star: No. 651 overall, No. 100 WR

  • Preston Bowman and Pickerington North (2-1) picked up a big rivalry win over Pickerington Central (OH) on Friday with a 38-27 victory. Bowman finished with a 26-yard touchdown catch (and a few pancake blocks) in the win.

Stone Saunders (QB) 6-0, 205 | Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, PA)
3-star: No. 676 overall, No. 41 QB

  • After losing in overtime last week, Stone Saunders and Bishop McDevitt (2-1) bounced back with a dominant 40-3 win over Chambersburg. Statistics were not made available, but we know that Saunders threw a one-yard touchdown pass, a six-yard touchdown pass, and a seven-yard touchdown pass in the blowout victory. Saunders was also at the UK game on Saturday and took a picture with Kentucky men’s basketball head coach Mark Pope.

Demarcus Gardner (CB) 6-0, 165 | Cedartown (Cedartown, GA)
3-star: No. 704 overall, No. 69 CB

  • Demarcus Gardner and Cedartown are the first in this rundown to reach a 4-0 record. Cedartown beat Pepperell (GA) by a score of 44-0. Statistics were not made available.

Brennen Ward (QB) 6-3, 215 | Gahanna Lincoln (Gahanna, OH)
3-star: No. 778 overall, No. 47 QB

  • Brennen Ward and Gahanna Lincoln fell to 1-2 after a 31-0 shutout loss to Olentangy Liberty (OH). Passing statistics were not made available, but we know that Ward did throw an interception.

Jermiel Atkins (OT) 6-8, 270 | Trotwood-Madison (Trotwood, OH)
3-star: No. 896 overall, No. 48 OT

  • Jermiel Atkins and Trotwood-Madison (0-4) nearly won their first game of the season, but a 15-14 loss to Springfield (OH) keeps them winless. Springfield scored a touchdown with 19 seconds left in the game and converted the two-point conversion off a fake PAT for the win. Trotwood-Madison managed just 101 yards of offense with Atkins aiding on the offensive line.

Nicholas Smith (DL) 6-5, 275 | Walnut Grove (Loganville, GA)
3-star: No. 1,074 overall, No. 113 DL

  • Nicholas Smith and Walnut Grove (3-0) were on a bye this week. They’ll return to action again next Friday against Monroe Area (GA).

Bryan Auguste (OT) 6-6, 285 | Monarch (Coconut Creek, FL)
3-star: No. 1,135 overall, No. 71 OT

  • Bryan Auguste and Monarch (1-0) were supposed to be in action on Friday against Cedar Grove, however, a final score was never posted and no stats have been made available.

Tucker Kattus (IOL) 6-5, 300 | St. Xavier (Cincinnati, OH)
3-star: No. 1,204 overall, No. 99 OT

  • Tucker Kattus and St. Xavier (2-1) picked up a big 35-31 win on Friday over Cathedral (IN). Cathedral took a 31-28 lead with 1:17 left but St. Xavier countered with the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds. With Kattus on the offensive line, St. Xavier QB Chase Herbstreit threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns.
