Kentucky Offers Two Noteworthy Tight Ends
Kentucky took one off the board when Gavin Grover committed to Cincinnati. A few days later four-star Dylan Mesman was in town, a visit KSR heard went well for the Wildcats. Kentucky can’t put all of their eggs in one basket.
A few weeks after he visited with his younger brother Tucker, a four-star offensive tackle in 2025, Vince Marrow extended a scholarship offer to Justin Kattus. A linebacker and tight end for Cincinnati St. X, and also a rugby player, the Kentucky offer is Justin’s first. Vince Marrow is playing Pokemon cosplay with the Kattus family, gotta catch em all.
Marrow was also joined by Liam Coen in Northern Kentucky where they visited with Covington Catholic’s Willie Rodriguez. A 6-foot-4, 225-pound three-star prospect, he’s been a popular recruit among other SEC schools. South Carolina and Arkansas beat Kentucky to the punch. Did the Wildcats enter the picture on time or were they too late? We’ll be following this recruitment closely.
Where Coaches are on the Road Recruiting
As you just read, Marrow was canvassing the Commonwealth to start the week. He’s currently on the road in Ohio visiting various high schools with talented prospects.
The biggest name now on the board in the 2025 recruiting class is Ari Watford. Brad White was in Virginia to offer a Top 25 player that is the second-ranked EDGE in his class. During that excursion to Newport News he also extended a scholarship offer to Kendall Daniels Jr.
Frank Buffano has knocked on doors in Missouri throughout his time at Kentucky, yet has not secured a commitment. He’s trying to change that with 2025 linebacker Jason King. Just his second offer, and first from the Power Five level, King could be the key to creating more competition with Mizzou in the talent-rich St. Louis metro.
Scuttlebutt on Top 200 Recruiting Targets

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
Aaron Scott is the top-ranked player in the state of Ohio and the No. 13 overall player in the On300. Simmons reports Ohio State is “setting the pace” for the cornerback. Michigan is the Buckeyes’ toughest competition, however, Vince Marrow has successfully recruited numerous players from Springfield High School, most recently Anthony Brown. They’ll be a significant player if this recruitment stays open down the stretch.
Meanwhile, Kentucky has another tall task in the recruitment of Kam Mikell. A four-star cornerback ranked No. 56 in the On300, Georgia is the big player for the Statesboro, Ga. athlete. He already has an official visit planned to Athens. He’ll be traveling to Colorado this week, but Kentucky, South Carolina and Tennessee are also serious players for Mikell.
Official Visits get Scheduled
We’re still a little more than six weeks away from a Kentucky campus filled official visitors. The first prospects making their way to town are beginning to mark their calendars for trips to Kentucky. Antonio White tells KSR he will take an official visit June 13-15. A three-star defensive back from Georgia recruited by Chris Collins, it will be his second trip to Lexington as a recruit.
There will be many more names added to the list of official visitors that will be continually updated throughout the spring on KSBoard.
