In-Home Visits: Kentucky Football on the Road in the South
This is the final week Kentucky football coaches can be on the road for in-home visits before the 2023 recruiting cycle ends with the start of the Early Signing Period. Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow have spent time in Kentucky, Ohio and other parts across the country. On Monday they were spotted throughout the South.
The day started in Nashville. Joined by new running backs coach Jay Boulware, Mark Stoops stopped in Nashville to see running back Ray Davis. The Vanderbilt transfer recently spent time touring Kentucky’s campus. He’s expected to make a decision in the near future.
While they were in Nashville, wide receivers coach Scott Woodward joined the caravan an in-home visit with Shamar Porter. The four-star wide receiver was the Wildcats’ first commitment in the 2023 recruiting class and is currently the highest-ranked player, considered the No. 221 player in America by the On3 Consensus. Prepared for the occasion, Porter was rocking a Kentucky blue letterman’s jacket.

The caravan added another Kentucky football assistant coach as the crew traveled south down I-65 to Florence, Al. Offensive line coach Zach Yenser joined in for an in-home visit with Koby Keenum, the most talented offensive line prospect in the Cats’ 2023 class. Pulled by other SEC schools to flip at the eleventh hour, Kentucky has put the proverbial squeeze on Keenum. After a victory in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game, he threw Ls Down to celebrate. The three-star IOL intends to enroll in January.
The Wildcats are not finished hitting the recruiting trail. Mark Stoops is juggling transfer portal visits in Lexington, while still finding time to go on the road to meet with high school prospects that could sign with the Wildcats in eight days. This time of year coaches must abide by the ABCs, Always Be ‘Crootin.
