YKDV Bossman Fat will not have to pursue his rapping career this fall. He’s got another gig lined up — and he doesn’t have to travel too far from his college football home to get there.

The Indianapolis Colts have signed Kelvin Joseph to their practice squad, the franchise announced Wednesday. That move comes following the knee injury of starting defensive back JuJu Brents, who was just placed on injured reserve. Veteran Chris Lammons was promoted to the active roster, opening up a spot for the former Kentucky standout.

Joseph, a former second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, will wear No. 38 for the Colts.

Joseph started his career in Dallas, playing in 26 games for the Cowboys over his first two seasons, racking up a total of 36 tackles and four pass breakups. He combined to play 884 snaps at cornerback and special teams before being traded to Miami in 2023. The former Wildcat would play just 21 snaps in four games there before being released and later signing with Seattle. He was most recently in Kansas City, signing a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs before he was cut to close out training camp.

The 6-1, 195-pound corner has recorded 39 total tackles (32 solo), 1.0 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 31 games and three starts across four seasons as a pro. Prior to his time in the NFL, he played in 20 college football games — 11 at LSU and nine at Kentucky, all starts with the Wildcats. He closed out his career with 25 tackles, four interceptions, one pass breakup and a tackle for loss at UK, leading to Fourth-Team All-SEC honors in 2020.

A former four-star recruit and standout player in college, Joseph has struggled to break through in the NFL, now playing for his fifth team in four seasons. Will he be able to do it in Indianapolis?

Either way, he’s looking to stay local, asking for recommendations on homes in Lexington.

Only 190 miles from Kroger Field to Lucas Oil Stadium, Bossman Fat.
