Before Mark Stoops began his weekly press conference to kick off Tennessee Week in Lexington, Kentucky Football released its new Week 8 depth chart to reveal some positive injury updates out of the bye week.

The two most important returners to the two-deep rotation, both Jeremy Flax and Tayvion Robinson reappeared at their respective positions at right tackle and wide receiver. Flax is back after he reaggravated a hamstring injury against Mississippi State, causing him to miss the second half of Kentucky’s win; Robinson missed the entire game with an injury he suffered during UK’s loss to South Carolina one week earlier.

One not-so-positive depth chart update, Kentucky is without Jacquez Jones for at least another week as he continues to rest from the injury he suffered in his Ole Miss homecoming on October 1.

Then when Stoops spoke to the media, he was asked the latest on Will Levis, Kentucky’s starting QB who spent the last week recovering from foot and shoulder injuries, to which Stoops replied, “Will’s getting better. He needed some time. Surely, there were a couple parts of his body I’m sure that needed some rest and needed some ice. So, he’s getting better.”

Behind Levis, true freshman Destin Wade moved up to an ‘or’ with Kiyah Sheron at QB2 on the updated depth chart. Stoops noted Wade is getting better and the staff had planned to give him some snaps against South Carolina but the opportunity never presented itself.

Regarding the team’s health as a whole coming out of the bye week, Stoops said, “I think we’re in as good a shape as we’ve been in for several weeks. I don’t know if we’ll be at 100% or not. We’re getting close.”
