Isaiah Briscoe set the BIG3 scoring record and also has beef with Marquis Teague
Talk about a blast from the past. In today’s “Where are they now?” news, a pair of former Kentucky Wildcats made headlines (social media headlines, at least) when they exchanged some on-court pleasantries after one scored 37 points on the other team’s noggin.
The beef actually started between Isaiah Briscoe and Jeff Teague, the latter a former NBA veteran who is spending his twilight years playing in the BIG3 (a 3v3 league created in 2017 by Ice Cube), which is where our story takes place. Of course, Jeff is the older brother of another former Wildcat, Marquis Teague, who suits up alongside big bro for the BIG3’s 3 Headed Monsters.
On Sunday, the Teague family went head-to-head against Briscoe and Trilogy, a matchup that came down to the wire with 3 Headed Monsters stealing a 51-49 win. Briscoe, 28, was the star of the night, finishing with a BIG3 record of 37 points to go along with seven rebounds despite his team’s losing effort. Jeff dropped a team-high 17 points while Marquis, 31, added three points.
But Briscoe’s performance was slightly overcast by the ongoing chippiness that occurred between himself and Jeff Teague (Briscoe might have gone a little too hard for a steal, resulting in Jeff hitting the game-winning free throw), which eventually spilled into Marquis getting involved once the game was officially over with.
In the videos below, you can spot the two Wildcats getting into each other’s faces before Briscoe and Jeff end the night on good terms. Just some good ole fashion trash-talking.

Through four BIG3 games played this season, Briscoe is the league’s leading scorer and field goal maker with 82 total points and 33 made field goals, although his squad has yet to come away with a victory (0-4). He also ranks second in the league with five total steals.
Meanwhile, the Teagues have the 3 Headed Monsters sitting on a 2-2 record. Jeff has produced 40 total points while Marquis, who helped Kentucky win the 2012 national championship, is at 34 points.
Briscoe and Marquis aren’t the only former ‘Cats playing in this league either. Jodie Meeks has scored 54 total points for the Ball Hogs (2-2). Other former NBA players past their respective primes are also scattered throughout the BIG3, such as Michael Beasley, Corey Brewer, Jason Richardson, Joe Johnson, Paul Millsap, Al Jefferson, and many more.
