Jack Gohlke joined the pantheon of Kentucky Basketball villains in March. Tonight, he could help take down the Cats’ top rival in The Basketball Tournament.

Fresh off his run in the NBA Summer League, Gohlke joined Sideline Cancer, a TBT team that plays to raise money and awareness for pancreatic cancer. Tonight at 7 p.m. ET, Sideline Cancer faces The Ville, Louisville’s TBT team, at Freedom Hall. The winner will advance to the Sweet 16, where they’ll face either Team DRC or Team Fredette. The winner of that game will play the winner of La Familia, Kentucky’s TBT team, and Herd That, which takes place tomorrow night at Rupp Arena, for a spot in the TBT semifinals in Philadelphia.

Gohlke is questionable for tonight’s game vs. The Ville. According to a video his NBA Summer League teammate Miller Kopp posted on TikTok, he was one of the many, many people with flight delays over the weekend thanks to the CrowdStrike outage. In three games with the Oklahoma City Thunder (including former Cat Tre Mitchell) in the NBA Summer League, Gohlke totaled three points on 1-4 shooting in 19 minutes. That’s a far cry from the 32 points, including 10 threes, he scored in Oakland’s upset over Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament. Even just typing that sentence still stings.

Should Gohlke suit up tonight, he’ll be another weapon for Sideline Cancer, which put up 100 points in the first-round win over VBL, its 17th win in TBT’s 11-year history. The Ville advanced to the second round by knocking out UKnighted, a team of mostly former Bellarmine players, 79-70. Montrezl Harrell had a team-high 20 points, followed by David Johnson with 17, but The Ville trailed by as many as 12 points late in the first half.

The Ville is currently a 3.5-point favorite on FanDuel, but Sideline Cancer will have the NCAA Tournament’s most recent Cinderella on the floor if Gohlke plays tonight. Do his upset powers extend to teams in the entire state of Kentucky or just Lexington? Do we root for Gohlke to take down Louisville if that means Kentucky may face Sideline Cancer in the TBT quarterfinals? Is that the moment Brennan Canada has been waiting for? Or, do we root for the storybook matchup of La Familia vs. The Ville even if it means risking a loss to the Cards?

We’ll get some answers starting at 7 p.m. ET when Sideline Cancer takes on The Ville. You can watch it on FS1. Go Gohlke?
