LSU has attempted to make a push for a pair of Kentucky commits in recent weeks. One took an official visit to Baton Rouge over the weekend for the big home game at Death Valley against Alabama. Ja’Kayden Ferguson leaves the trip locked in with the Kentucky.

The high three-star receiver reaffirmed his commitment to the Wildcats on Sunday.

Ja’Kayden Ferguson committed to Kentucky on June 16 giving wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts Jr. his first recruiting win as a member of UK’s staff. Ferguson is one of four wide receivers in Kentucky’s high school class as the program looks to fill Shorts’ position room with some young talent.

Kentucky currently has 21 commitments in the 2025 high school class and is firmly ranked inside the top 25. The early signing period has been moved up two weeks this season going from the Wednesday before Christmas to the first Wednesday after Thanksgiving. All signs currently point to Ja’Kayden Ferguson signing with the Wildcats in December giving the program a rare Lonestar State recruiting win. Meanwhile, LSU will likely continue its pursuit of Kentucky commit Cedrick Works.
