Pittsburgh transfer Jaland Lowe signed with Kentucky and is set to become the new starting point guard for head coach Mark Pope. But before his junior campaign arrives, the All-ACC performer will get an opportunity to workout for NBA teams.

The point guard has received an invite to the 2025 NBA G League Elite camp. The event will take place from May 9-11 in Chicago.

A good performance in the event could lead to an invite to the combine. The annual NBA Draft Combine will be held from May 11-18 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis. This week-long showcase brings scouts and front office personnel from all 30 teams to one place for a first-hand look at the best draft-eligible prospects ahead of June’s NBA Draft.

Jaland Lowe has until May 28 to withdraw from the draft and maintain his college eligibility. Kentucky big Amari Williams will also be at the G League Elite Camp. Koby Brea and Otega Oweh have secured invites to the combine.

“Jaland is an incredibly explosive, playmaking, veteran point guard,” Pope said in UK’s press release on April 11 announcing Lowe as a future Wildcat. “He’s a great kid who has a tremendous work ethic and most importantly, loves this game and wants nothing more than to win.”

The Pittsburgh guard averaged 16.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.8 steals in 35.4 minutes per game on .376/.266/.886 shooting splits as a sophomore. After having an extremely high usage rate, the expectation is that Lowe’s efficiency could take a big jump in Kentucky’s offense that will not require the point guard to carry such a heavy scoring load on a nightly basis.

The lefty is currently on the NBA radar.
