Jaland Lowe 'wants nothing more than to win' as he officially signs with Kentucky

Mark Pope has his point guard, Kentucky officially announcing the addition of Pittsburgh transfer Jaland Lowe (pronounced JAY-lend), an All-ACC selection in 2024-25. The former Panther was a star under Jeff Capel, averaging a team-high 16.8 points per game to go along with 5.5 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals per contest.
Now, he’ll be taking his talents to Lexington as a junior with two years of eligibility remaining, Pope announced on Friday.
“Jaland is an incredibly explosive, playmaking, veteran point guard,” Pope said. “He’s a great kid who has a tremendous work ethic and most importantly, loves this game and wants nothing more than to win.”
Lowe earned third team All-ACC accolades and was a National Association of Basketball Coaches Mid-Atlantic Second Team All-District honoree. The 6-3 lefty from Missouri City, Texas scored 20 or more points 10 times this past season while reaching double figures on 26 occasions. He also had 19 games with five or more assists and three with 10 or more.
