Jamal Murray signs max contract extension with Denver Nuggets
I bet your Saturday isn’t as good as Jamal Murray‘s. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the former Cat just signed a four-year, $208 million contract extension with the Denver Nuggets.
Murray, now 27, was set to become a free agent next summer but is now committed to the Nuggets for a total of five seasons and $244 million. Fellow Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is also locked in for at least the next three years. After winning the 2023 NBA title, Denver fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference semifinals last season. Murray averaged 21.2 points and 6.5 assists, one of three players in the league to average 20 points, six assists, and 40% shooting from the outside. He is the Nuggets’ all-time leader in made three-point shots and one of eight players in NBA history with multiple 50-point playoff games.
Murray averaged 20.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.1 threes, and 2.2 assists per game in his lone season at Kentucky (2015-16). He was selected No. 7 overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 2016 NBA Draft. Life just got a little bit sweeter for the Blue Arrow.
