Jamarrion Harkless receives Kentucky Offer amid wave of Recruiting Momentum
Power Five schools are lining up to offer Lexington’s Jamarrion Harkless a scholarship. Friday morning the Kentucky Wildcats became the latest to offer the Frederick Douglass defensive lineman a scholarship.
It’s been a 48-hour whirlwind for the three-star defensive tackle. On Wednesday he received an offer from the University of Georgia. Since the defending National Champions entered his recruitment, Harkless has received offers from LSU, Auburn, Michigan, Louisville and now, Kentucky. At the start of the week, Illinois and West Virginia were his only Power Five offers. Harkless has an official visit to Champaign scheduled for June.

A 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive lineman, Harkless is the latest high-major recruit from Frederick Douglass High School. Broncos’ head coach head coach Nathan McPeek told KSR on Wednesday, “He’s not a super emotional kid and he was pretty emotional this morning.”
A superstar on the camp circuit this spring, the offers will likely continue to roll in for Harkless in the coming days and weeks. Vince Marrow has a lengthy resume filled with recruiting wins at Frederick Douglass, but this time the Wildcats do not have the “first offer” advantage over their counterparts.
