James Anderson on the Scene.....

So the name on the lips of the UK recruiting scene followers today is James Anderson, the scorer from Arkansas (and unfortunately not the James Anderson above who does an admirable job as police chief of Caliguga, California) who Jai Lucas told me last night is apparently on the UK recruiting radar scene. This seemed odd to me at the time, as Anderson really hasnt been mentioned with the UK program in quite some time by the recrutiniks and the two major scouting services list him as having little to no interest in UK.

Awww, but there is a lesson here my friends. Just because those that report on recruiting dont know something doesnt mean it isnt happening. Two weeks ago Mike Williams and Ramon Harris were on campus visiting Kentucky, both with scholarship offers. Ramon Harris’ name was first mentioned here just a week before his recruitment and Mike Williams was on no one’s radar screen until days before his visit and was STILL listed as having no interest while on campus. You just never know.

Which brings us back to James Anderson. Long thought to be headed to either Arkansas or Kansas, Lucas’ comments made me wonder. I called Anderson tonight and was only able to speak to a relative who told me that Kentucky had talked to James last week and that the individual thought he was taking a visit to UK next month. As of yet, I have not spoken to James himself, thus I would hesitate to say a visit is certainly coming. But what I can say is that the recruitment of James Anderson still continues by UK.

So there you have it…..a four to five star national talent and UK is still pursuing and may even be getting a visit…..and no one is reporting it but Jai Lucas to me…..just shows you how even when we know, we dont know….
