James Young signs with Israeli pro team
Another former Cat is headed overseas. James Young signed a one-year deal with Maccabi Haifa in the Israeli Premier League.
Last year, Young averaged 18.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game for the Wisconsin Herd in the G-League. Prior to that, he had a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers and their G-League affiliate, the Delaware 87ers. He was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2014 but struggled with injuries in his rookie season and spent most of it and the following year with the Maine Red Claws.
It’s been a long, strange road for Young, but here’s hoping he can make the most of this opportunity.
