The transfer portal has been officially open for over a week and things have not really slowed down. In Lexington, the University of Kentucky program has been extremely busy.

Alabama offensive line transfer Tanner Bowles has already committed to the Wildcats as the Glasgow (Ky.) High product is making a return to his home state. Another Western Kentucky native could do the same soon.

On Tuesday afternoon, Ohio State defensive Jantzen Dunn (6-1, 192) entered the transfer portal after two seasons in Columbus.

The Bowling Green (Ky.) South Warren product was a top-200 recruit in the class of 2021 and the No. 2 player in Kentucky. Dunn committed to Ryan Day’s Ohio State program in April 2020 over Kentucky, Louisville, and Tennessee.

In his two years at Ohio State, Dunn only saw the field on special teams in 2022 as a redshirt freshman. During his first year on campus, the former blue-chip prospect saw defensive snaps (9) against Akron in Week 4.

Jantzen Dunn will be a redshirt sophomore in 2023 with three years of eligibility remaining. The versatile defensive back could potentially play cornerback, nickel, or safety at the college level. Kentucky could use some help at outside cornerback following the departure of super senior Keidron Smith.

Don’t be surprised if the Wildcats make a run at the Big Ten transfer.
