Kentucky is currently working on upgrading its secondary. After signing four defensive backs in the class of 2021, the Wildcats also added four defensive back transfers from the portal. That emphasis hasn’t stopped in the class of 2022.

Kentucky currently has three defensive backs in the fold, and four-star wideout Shamar Porter states that the coaching staff is focused on adding more secondary players to this class. As the coaching staff searches for more targets, one commitment will be leaned on early in his career.

Lake Wales (Fla.) High defensive back Jaremiah Anglin committed to Kentucky on August 6 beating out both Florida State and Pittsburgh. The rising senior is a multi-positional coverage player who flashed great instincts on tape to go with excellent ball skills.

Those showed up on Thursday night as Anglin recorded two interceptions leading Lake Wales to a big win to begin the season.

Jaremiah Anglin was a significant recruiting win in Central Florida for defensive backs coach Chris Collins. Kentucky added a player with playmaking potential.
