Paducah (Ky.) Tilghman offensive tackle Jarvis Strickland became the first player to join Kentucky’s 2026 high school recruiting class at the end of the March. The four-star prospect is becoming the first decommit in the class less than three months later.

The No. 2 player in Kentucky backed off his pledge on Thursday.

Will Louisville now make a run at the in-state prospect? That feels likely. Vince Marrow was the lead recruiter for Kentucky and helped secure a spring commitment from the talented true tackle prospect. The Cards have six in-state commits. The Cats now have zero.

Where does Kentucky turn from here? Three-star prospect Cameron Miller recently joined the class and Metro Nashville tackle Jack Fuchs visited earlier this month. The three-star recruit in Middle Tennessee is expected to be at Penn State this weekend before shifting into decision mode. Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School prospect Charlie Edgeworth recently picked Louisville over Kentucky.

The Cats had created some recruiting momentum after the news of Marrow leaving the program, but a big hit was suffered on Thursday when the second-highest recruit in the class backed off his commitment.
