Jasper Johnson schedules weekend OV to Auburn; Tigers host Kentucky on Saturday
Jasper Johnson was in Lexington over the weekend for his official visit to Kentucky. In a couple of days, he’ll get the chance to watch the Wildcats once again, only this time with a different perspective.
When No. 13 Auburn hosts No. 22 Kentucky on Saturday night, Johnson will be in attendance for his official visit to Auburn, per On3’s Joe Tipton. This will be the fifth official visit for the class of 2025 shooting guard, who has also taken trips to UK, Missouri, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Johnson, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, is considered the No. 12 overall high school junior in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Tipoff for Kentucky-Auburn is set for 6:00 p.m. EST on ESPN. College Gameday will set up shop at Neville Arena for the primetime SEC showdown.
Auburn is also set to host another Kentucky native this weekend, four-star class of 2026 shooting guard Jayden Johnson, who currently plays at Trinity in Louisville. Jayden Johnson is in the early stages of being recruited by UK. His trip to the Plains will be an unofficial visit.

Jasper Johnson recently cut his list of college options down to 10: Kentucky, Kansas, Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Missouri, Louisville, North Carolina, Southern California, and West Virginia. UK and UNC appear to be the frontrunners at this stage in his process. If all goes well, this weekend’s visit to Auburn could add the Tigers into that mix.
Originally from Lexington, Johnson started his high school career playing for Woodford County in Versailles. He transferred to a high-profile prep school, Link Academy (MO), during the offseason, but his ties to the Bluegrass State live on. Both his dad, Dennis, and late grandfather, Alvis, are considered legends in the area. Dennis was an All-American defensive end for Kentucky football in the late 90s and early 2000s, and is currently the head football coach at Woodford County.
The trio of head coach John Calipari, associate coach Orlando Antigua, and assistant coach Chin Coleman have all played a role in Johnson’s recruitment. Combined with his connections to Lexington, will it be enough to get him back home for a college run?
