Javon Baker Announces Commitment to Central Florida
Instead of taking his talents to Kentucky, former Alabama wide receiver Javon Baker will suit up for the UCF Golden Knights. The talented pass-catcher revealed his decision on social media.
Baker initially committed to Kentucky in January, just a few weeks after playing for Alabama in the CFB National Championship. As summer training camp approached, officials around the University of Kentucky grew weary and ultimately decided to move on without Baker on the 2022 roster.

A four-star prospect in the class of 2020, Baker was ranked as high as the No. 20 wide receiver in America when he signed with Alabama. In two years with the Crimson Tide Javon Baker appeared in 21 games, primarily on special teams. He caught seven passes for 101 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Baker is not the only player with Kentucky connections to transfer to Central Florida. Former UK quarterback Joey Gatewood will join Baker in Gus Malzahn’s wide receivers room this fall.
