Kentucky transfer Jayvant Brown commits to Temple
Kentucky saw 20 scholarship players leave the program for the transfer portal after the 2024 regular season. Each of them have found new homes for the 2025 season. Jayvant Brown is headed to the American Athletic Conference.
The redshirt sophomore linebacker with three years of eligibility committed to Temple on Thursday evening.
Jayvant Brown was a top-500 recruit in the 2023 high school cycle who flipped from Michigan State to Kentucky late in the class. The South Florida native saw action in 11 games as a true freshman but played in only four games as a sophomore in 2024 to preserve his redshirt. Brown will be a redshirt sophomore in 2025 with three years of eligibility remaining.

Temple made a coaching change in the offseason and hired away Sam Houston head coach K.C. Keeler. The 65-year-old won an FCS national title at Delaware in 2003 and at Sam Houston in the 2020-21 spring season. Keeler helped Sam Houston make the transition to the FBS in 2023 and led the Bearkats to a 9-3 finish in their second year playing in the C-USA.
