Jeff Brohm to Tennessee?
After being turned down by Mike Gundy, Tennessee is reportedly going after Jeff Brohm. Knoxville radio host Jimmy Hyams is reporting that Tennessee is “closing in” on a deal with Brohm, who is wrapping up his first season at Purdue.

By now, Brohm’s resume should be familiar. The former Louisville quarterback and relative of our own Nick Roush spent several years on the Cards’ coaching staff before moving on to Western Kentucky, where he was head coach from 2014-16. He led Purdue to a 6-6 record in his first season, and some projections have the Boilermakers playing Kentucky in the Music City Bowl. Interestingly, Brohm was in Louisville recruiting last night, and Purdue maintains that he has yet to be contacted by Tennessee. So, something to keep an eye on.
In other SEC coaching carousel news, signs continue to point to Jimbo Fisher leaving Florida State for Texas A&M. FootballScoop.com says there is “quiet optimism” the deal to send Fisher to College Station will get done, and if so, it appears Willie Taggart is the frontrunner to take his spot in Tallahassee.
The SEC: It just means more coaching drama.
UPDATE: Not so fast!
Told by both sides that no deal is in place between Tennessee and Purdue's Jeff Brohm and not close to being done at this point, although there have been discussions.
