The lead-up to the Fourth of July holiday gives us the biggest commitment window in the high school recruiting cycle. Class of 2025 prospects are now locking in spots after completing official visits in June. We are starting to see some in-state prospects make some decisions.

No. 1 player Javeon Campbell decided to stay home and will suit up for Kentucky after picking the Wildcats over Alabama on Tuesday, but he was not the only in-state native to make a decision this week. Nebraska has scored its first recruiting win in the Bluegrass State since flipping Wan’Dale Robinson from Kentucky in the class of 2019. Jeremiah Jones is headed to Lincoln.

Murray (Ky.) High senior Jeremiah Jones is headed to the Big Ten after committing to Matt Rhule‘s program on Monday. The three-star prospect is the No. 5 overall recruit in Kentucky. Jones is one of nine Kentucky seniors committed to a power conference program joining Javeon Campbell (Kentucky), Martels Carter (Kentucky), Austin Alexander (North Carolina), Montavin Quisenberry (West Virginia), Vanzale Hinton (Vanderbilt), Gradey Anthony (Louisville), Antonio Harris (Louisville), and Dillon Smith (Louisville). Louisville (Ky.) Male center Isaac “Spike” Sowells Jr. will join that group in July when he picks from finalists Kentucky, South Carolina, NC State, and Miami.

Kentucky is doing a great job keeping talent home, but there are other homegrown high school players heading to play big-time college football in the ACC, Big Ten, and Big 12.
