Joe and Kelly Craft donate $7.5 million towards Nutter Field House renovation
You can never stop investing in your college football program. Kentucky is committed to building a consistent winner in football, and more evidence of that came to light on Thursday evening.
At a UK Athletics committee meeting, some big news was released regarding a very popular upcoming facility renovation. According to Jon Hale of the Lexington Herald-Leader, Mark Stoops will not have to wait much longer for Kentucky’s indoor practice facility to expand.
Kentucky’s football-only facility is named after Joe Craft after the university supporter donated $4.79 million to support the building of the much-needed full-time home of the football program. Now the Crafts are stepping up to the plate again to help fund a major facility project for the football program.
After publicly campaigning for an expanded practice facility throughout the 2021 season, Stoops got his wish along with an increased recruiting budget and more money for both him and his staff in negotiations as last season ended. The top need was getting the track out of the Nutter Field House, but finding a new home for Kentucky’s rising track team at the same time was also a priority.

Kentucky is constructing an indoor track that will cost about $20 million. In total, $5 million will be needed to turn the indoor practice facility into a full field and a football-only facility. Recently, $5 million was spent on Kroger Field upgrades as the university installed larger video boards at both ends of the stadium.
The most recent news should help get those full indoor facility wheels in motion as Stoops is getting close to another facility goal for his program.
The Wildcats are committed to winning football games as both the university and supporters keep investing in Kentucky football.
