“You can’t let somebody rile you up,” John Calipari said. “We have a good team. … You can’t get bought up in all of the clutter. Just stay the course.”

Joe Lunardi, come on down! YOU are the latest clutterer in this year’s edition of Kentucky basketball.

The Wildcats were the final No. 5 seed in Monday’s edition of Bracketology. Then they were the final No. 5 seed in Wednesday’s update following the team’s 32-point win at Vanderbilt.

One day later and zero games played since last taking the floor, the Cats are once again on the move, down and out of the top 20 entirely. You can assume they’re now on that No. 6 seed line, but Lunardi’s updates only extend to the top 20 for the No. 5 seeds, so we don’t officially know. For the sake of controversy, we can say he tanked Kentucky down to the No. 10 seed line because there’s no way to confirm or deny it either way. Thus, he hates the Cats and is trying to steal Coach Cal’s joy.

As of Wednesday, Lunardi had the SEC with nine bids and one also on the bubble. That list includes Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Florida and Mississippi State with Georgia on the outside looking in, but not out of contention completely.

The Cats dropped without playing a game. Tune in tomorrow to find out whether or not Kentucky will make the field of 68 at all.
