John Calipari arrives in Fayetteville wearing red ahead of Arkansas introduction
Coach Cal is ready to call the Hogs in Fayetteville, officially arriving for his introduction as Arkansas’ next head coach on Wednesday. We’ve seen the graphics and photoshops, but now, John Calipari is wearing cardinal and white for the first time as a Razorback.
And yeah, it’s still pretty difficult to process, something straight out of The Twilight Zone.
The school announced his addition early this morning, followed by an endless supply of welcome messages to celebrate the Hall of Fame coach making his way to Fayetteville.
“By all accounts, John Calipari is one of the premier coaches in college basketball,” Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek said. “A national championship coach, a four-time national coach of the year and one of the nation’s top recruiters, Coach Cal has consistently demonstrated his ability to attract outstanding talent and build championship teams within the Southeastern Conference and position his programs among the best in the nation.”
From there, the pick-up in Lexington.
Followed by his anticipated arrival in Fayetteville, led by that goofy red pig and hopeful fans celebrating his debut wearing their colors after being a hated rival all of these years.

His introductory press conference is scheduled for this evening where he will make his first public comments as a Razorback.
Meanwhile back in Lexington, Calipari’s office is getting cleaned out as Mitch Barnhart searches for the program’s next head coach.
It’s only going to get weirder from here.
