Kentucky’s 63-57 win over Arkansas sure wasn’t pretty, but John Calipari knows that a win is a win, especially on the road in the SEC. He called tonight’s game vs. the Razorbacks a “rock fight,” praising his squad for coming together to grind out a very important victory.

“We would not fight back,” Calipari said of his team on Tuesday night vs. South Carolina. “We let them do whatever they wanted to do to us. Today, we fought back.”

Calipari gave credit to Ugonna Onyenso for an inspired defensive effort, calling him the “difference maker”; Antonio Reeves for his big shots; and Reed Sheppard for stepping up after a deer-in-headlights outing at South Carolina. He also explained Rob Dillingham’s absence due to a stomach virus and Justin Edwards’ minor injury this week in practice. He also threw in a barb or two about officiating and oddly, a comment about South Carolina guard Meechie Johnson, who inevitably cooled off after a big night vs. the Cats earlier this week.
