John Calipari makes trip to see Adem Bona prior to official visit to UK
Kentucky head coach John Calipari and assistant coach Chin Coleman were in to see 2022 five-star Adem Bona on Tuesday, a source confirmed with KSR.
The trip to see Bona comes just days before the standout center takes his official visit to Lexington. His trip is scheduled from October 1-3.
Travis Branham of 247Sports was the first to break the news. He also reported top-five recruit and Kentucky commit Chris Livingston will take an official visit to Lexington this weekend, as well.
KSR reported last week that Kentucky still had ground to make up with the five-star center, with UCLA, Kansas and the NBL serving as the other core finalists. Bona is a huge fan of the UK basketball program and would love to be a Wildcat, but wants to feel like a priority in the frontcourt.

UCLA is seen as the other top contender fighting with Kentucky for Bona, with Mick Cronin and the Bruins making him a priority from the start.
Bona, who models his game after Bam Adebayo, is interested in seeing how Kentucky would use him and the plan the program has in place to help his game grow. UK feels confident in its pitch and plans to drive it home this weekend during the five-star center’s visit to Lexington.
Will Kentucky be able to secure a commitment? That’s at the top of the priority list for Calipari and his staff.
Until then, check out some of Bona’s latest highlights:
