John Wall was one of the 20,119 people in attendance to watch No. 12 Kentucky dismantle No. 8 Miami in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge at Rupp Arena. The BBN’s first love of the John Calipari era sat courtside to watch Big Blue Nation’s new fan favorite, Reed Sheppard, go off on the national stage with a remarkable performance, leading the team in scoring with 21 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals, a highlight-reel block, and a truly outstanding number in the +/- column: +35!

It takes a unique situation for Wall to be the second-most popular Kentucky guard in a room, but that was the case Tuesday night. He didn’t seem to mind. Seated by Ellen Calipari courtside, Wall cheered when the crowd cheered and booed when the crowd booed in his new role as a fan.

Before the game, Wall got some shots up at the team’s practice facility.

“Back at the crib!” he posted on Instagram. “Big game tonight!”

Wall was the Y

A legend like John Wall can’t come home without stepping out onto Cawood’s Court again. So, when it came time for the cheerleaders to find help to spell out K-E-N-T-U-C-K-Y, Wall was an easy choice to be the ceremonial Y.
