Kentucky will host top-500 OL John Wayne Oliver for April visit
Kentucky has a big need for offensive tackles in the class of 2024. Targets are starting to emerge as college football programs look to get rising juniors on campus in April.
The Wildcats are hard at work working the phones and getting visits scheduled. In Greater Nashville, a top-500 tackle prospect has emerged.
John Wayne Oliver is a high three-star prospect in the class of 2024 who received an offer from Kentucky on Jan. 24 with wide receivers coach Scott Woodward and offensive line coach Zach Yenser working on this recruitment for the Wildcats. After hosing the high three-star prospect for a visit in October, Oliver will return to the University of Kentucky campus next month.
In an interview with Rivals’ Sean Williams, Oliver confirmed that he will make multiple stops over the next three weeks with trips planned to Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, and Vanderbilt.

However, TCU has already received a spring visit and Oliver has scheduled a return trip to Ft. Worth for an official visit in June. The Horned Frogs are emerging as an early favorite in this recruitment. However, there is still time for other programs to make a move.
For Kentucky, recruiting Middle Tennessee has become an emphasis for the program landing Barion Brown, Destin Wade, Keaten Wade, and Shamar Porter from the area in the last two recruiting cycles. In Brown’s recruitment, TCU was a main competitor.
Both the Cats and Frogs prioritize Greater Nashville. We could see another recruiting battle between these two occur as each program is chasing after John Wayne Oliver.
Recruiting never stops.
