Jon Toth re-signed by Washington Football Team
It is roster-cutting season in the NFL and one former Kentucky Wildcat is back on a squad he was released from earlier this week. The Washington Football team re-signed Jon Toth this morning. On Tuesday, the team cut Toth ahead of the league’s 4 p.m. deadline to trim rosters from 85 to 80 players.
Jon Toth went undrafted in 2017 and has not played in an NFL regular-season game; however, he spent time on the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad his first two seasons. He also played for the Jets, Browns, and Lions, and in the XFL. As Kentucky’s center from 2012-16, Toth played in 48 career games with 47 consecutive starts, helping the Cats rush for 1,855 yards in 2016.
Toth’s not in the green yet; next Tuesday, teams must cut their rosters to 53. The final NFL preseason game takes place Sunday, August 29.
