Top-100 OL Jonathan Daniels has 'high interest' in Kentucky

Offensive line is again a position of need for Kentucky in the 2024 recruiting cycle. For the program’s huge official visit weekend, a surprise prospect emerged on the radar. Top-100 prospect Jonathan Daniels made the trip north to Lexington for the first time in the recruiting process.

The Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest rising senior took his first official visit to Kentucky after canceling last week’s scheduled trip to LSU. Georgia (June 16) and Florida State (June 23) will now get the blue-chip prospect on campus. However, Kentucky made a real impact on Daniels in his short time in Lexington. Defensive line coach Anwar Stewart is leading this recruitment for the Wildcats. On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons caught up with Daniels following his trip to UK.

“The visit was an amazing first time in Kentucky,” Jonathan Daniels told On3. “I received so much love unconditional love from the coaching staff and they welcomed me and open arms. It was excellent.”

“I spent a lot of time with Coach [Anwar] Stewart and the offensive line coach Zach Yesner,” said Daniels, the No. 11 player in the 2024 On300. “We’re building that relationship and after this trip, I think we’ll have having more conversations and get to know each other more.”

Daniels received the red carpet treatment from the Kentucky football program and came away impressed. The Wildcats now appear to be legit contenders in this recruitment.

“I feel great about Kentucky and I can most definitely see myself playing with them,” Daniels said. “This visit was important because I had never been or had that one-on-one time in person with their coaches. To be able come up for an official visit and spend a lot of time with them was very helpful and I definitely better about them.”

“I have very high interest and I could see them as one of the top schools on my list.”

Kentucky needs offensive line help in a big way. Jonathan Daniels is now one of the top prospects on the recruiting board at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility.
