Kentucky has gotten some positive recruiting news in the last week as everyone is finally moving over to the class of 2024 after the February signing day wrapped up on Wednesday. The Wildcats are quickly addressing the Big Blue Wall by adding in-state prospects Hayes Johnson and Aba Selm to the class with verbal commitments.

After a huge junior day last weekend, there is recruiting buzz building for the Kentucky football program, but not all of it is good. On Thursday afternoon, the Wildcats found out that they are on the outside looking in on a blue-chip prospect at a pipeline school. Star tailback Jordan Marshall has cut his list to four schools and the Wildcats did not make the cut.

Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Wisconsin are out to an early lead in the chase for the top-125 prospect in the class of 2024 despite playing his high school ball at Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller.

Kentucky currently has three Moeller products on their roster as Brenden Bates, Josh Kattus, and Brandon White are back in Lexington for another season. Meanwhile, cornerback Carrington Valentine has entered the NFL Draft after three years in college. Moeller has developed into a feeder program for Kentucky football, but that is not the case in Marshall’s recruitment.

The Early Signing Period is over eight months away so there is still time to get back into this race. However, Ohio State has to be considered the early favorite as Marshall is a top-five prospect in Ohio and those recruits typically stay home and become Buckeyes.

Expect more 2024 developments to occur frequently moving forward as Kentucky looks to build a solid class this recruiting cycle.
