We expected to see some two-way player movement from the Kentucky football program during the spring transfer portal window. After a slow first week, action has started to accelerate in recent days. The Wildcats lost another scholarship player on Wednesday.

Kentucky cornerback Jordan Robinson has entered the transfer portal after spending two years with the program.

The Columbia (S.C.) Westwood product began his career at D-II Livingston College (N.C.) and was a year one starter in 2021 recording 26 tackles, six pass breakups, and two interceptions for the Black Bears. After the year, Robinson entered the transfer portal and committed to Appalachian State before ultimately flipping to Kentucky on April 27.

Robinson took a redshirt season his first year with the Wildcats playing in four games. As a redshirt sophomore in 2023, the defensive back played 200 defensive snaps for Brad White’s defense earning one starting assignment (vs. Tennessee). Robinson finished the season with 13 tackles and two pass breakups.

With good size (6-foot-4), expectations were high for the developmental prospect coming out of D-II. Jordan Robinson appeared to be a good fit for Kentucky’s zone-heavy scheme due to his potential as a big corner who could clog zones. But after being unable to lock down a spot last season and ultimately losing playing time to JQ Hardaway and Jantzen Dunn after recovering from a soft tissue injury in fall camp, the cornerback has decided to enter free agency to find his third college football home.

The transfer will be a redshirt junior in 2024 with two years of eligibility remaining.
