Josh Allen agrees to big extension with Jacksonville Jaguars
Josh Allen just wrapped up a career year at a premium position. The former No. 7 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft had a monster season in year five with the Jacksonville Jaguars recording 66 tackles, 17.5 sacks, and 33 QB hits while earning a Pro Bowl selection. After receiving the franchise tag earlier this offseason, it looked like Allen could be entering his last year with the AFC South franchise.
General manager Trent Baalke and Allen’s team prevented the edge rusher from becoming an unrestricted free agent in 11 months on Wednesday. The former SEC Defensive Player of the Year is staying in Duval County, sources have told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Josh Allen will turn 27 years old in July and will be playing on a new five-year deal heading into his 30s in Jacksonville. Since entering the NFL, Allen ranks No. 6 in pressures (228) and No. 10 in sacks (32). The Kentucky product is a big-time player in professional football. Now Allen will be paid like an elite edge rusher.
Now the Jacksonville Jaguars can begin turning their attention to the 2024 NFL Draft with a huge piece of their roster now locked up long-term.
