Josh Allen Scores Game-Winning Touchdown to Punch Jaguars' Playoff Ticket
As Kentucky fans saw so many times during his time in Lexington, Josh Allen was at his best when his team needed him most. In a winner-take-all AFC South showdown against the Tennessee Titans, the former first round pick from Kentucky made the fourth quarter clutch play to put the Jaguars in the playoffs.
Jacksonville hosted the game, but never led until the former Wildcat got his hands on the football. The high-octane offense continually made mistakes in the red zone, settling for field goals instead of scoring touchdowns. Desperate for a big play, Josh Allen delivered.
Trailing 16-13 with just under three minutes to play, the Jaguars needed a stop. They got more, a scoop-and-score from Josh Allen.
But wait — THERE’S MORE!
Joshua Dobbs and the Tennessee Titans still had three timeouts and a two-minute warning, plenty of time to drive down the field and retake the lead. Once again, Josh Allen had different plans. He stripped the former Volunteers’ quarterback, setting the Titans behind the chains and derailing the final drive of the game.

In addition to the big plays in the fourth quarter, Allen also had six tackles, one sack, one TFL and a pair of quarterback hurries. Another former Wildcat, defensive tackle Corey Peters, tallied six tackles and 2.0 TFLs. On the opposite side of the line of scrimmage, Luke Fortner will finish his rookie season in a playoff game.
The Jaguars won four games over the last two years. Now they’re in the playoffs. The remarkable turnaround would not be possible without contributions from all-time great Kentucky Wildcats. You’re welcome, Duuuval.
